A steady outline for a learning session.
Use this adaptable outline to hold an educational workplace-learning session within its agreed scope. It offers a repeatable sequence without prescribing a duration or required practice.
This is educational workplace learning, not therapy or clinical care. It does not provide therapy, diagnosis, treatment, or medical care.
Session outline
Follow the sequence at the pace that fits the meeting format and agreed scope.
01 · Session step
Welcome and name the purpose
Welcome the group, state the learning purpose and agreed scope, and make clear that personal disclosure is not expected.
02 · Session step
Explain participation choices
Remind everyone that participation and sharing are voluntary. A participant can pass or pause without explanation; do not ask why someone chose to pass.
03 · Session step
Introduce the selected material or theme
Name the material or theme chosen for this session and connect it to the learning purpose. Use only a practice or activity already included in the agreed plan.
04 · Session step
Offer quiet reflection
Invite a quiet moment to reflect privately. Writing and sharing are optional; leave room for participants to simply listen or pause.
Passing or pausing is always okay and needs no explanation. Do not call on anyone or ask them to explain a choice.
Optional reflection prompts
- What idea, if any, would you like to revisit?
- What, if anything, feels relevant to your work or team context?
- What question, if any, would you like to carry forward?
05 · Session step
Close with an optional takeaway and next steps
Invite a takeaway only from people who want to share. Confirm next steps already agreed together, without promising an individual result.
